The NASA Reflectance Experiment LABoratory (RELAB) database includes
spectral measurements
of a wide range of terrestrial and extraterrestrial materials spanning UV to far-IR wavelengths.
Additional information about the lab is available on the
RELAB website. |
Frankenspectra Database Bundle - A SSERVI funded project to analyze, using reflectance spectroscopy, 27 fine-particulate
(less than 10-um) terrestrial minerals to create a far-UV through MIR single spectrum built from the best pieces
of spectra acquired at multiple US and international labs.
This PDS4 data bundle is hosted by the PDS Geosciences Node.

Multiple-laboratory spectral
comparisons increased confidence in determining both
better spectral shapes and overall representative reflectance values by considering the reflectance data of each
sample as an ensemble (DOI 10.3847/PSJ/ad5af7).
The four different labs used to acquire the fine-particulate reflectance spectra included the University of Colorado Laboratory
for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP, Boulder, CO), the Planetary Science Institute (PSI, Tucson, AZ), the University of
Winnipeg’s Centre for Terrestrial and Planetary Exploration (C-Tape) Planetary Spectrophotometer Facility (UW, Manitoba, Canada),
and the Planetary Emissivity Laboratory (PEL, that performs reflectance measurements as well as emissivity) at the German Aerospace Center
(Deutsches Land und Raumfahrt, DLR) in Berlin, Germany.

XAS Synthesized Glasses - A PDART funded project of
synthesized samples of extraterrestrial glasses that were analyzed with X-Ray Absorption Near-Edge
Structure (XAS) spectroscopy by the Advanced Photon Source, U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science User Facility.
This PDS4 data bundle is hosted by the PDS Geosciences Node.

This database includes X-Ray Absorption Near-Edge Structure (XAS)
spectral data from a PDART investigation of synthesized glasses
(DOI 10.2138/am-2016-5555).
In this investigation, multivariate techniques were used to enable accurate XAS measurements of Fe, Cr, Mn, and Ti ratios across the whole
spectral region through creation of a broad suite of experimentally homogenized glasses of geological relevance for use as XAS standards.
Iron, Cr, Mn, and Ti were analyzed as epoxy-mounted polished glass beads using XAS at the GeoSoilEnviroCARS beamline at the
Advanced Photon Source,
Argonne National Laboratory using a spot size of ca. 1x1 μm.

LIBS Reference Database of Geological Materials
-spectra collected at the Mineral Spectroscopy Laboratory at Mount Holyoke College (MHC)
on a series of four laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) instruments.

The Mineral Spectroscopy Laboratory at Mount Holyoke College utilized four different LIBS instruments to collect
spectra on a reference database of 2,951 unique calibration targets. These targets have known
concentrations of all 10 major element oxides as well as up to 64 minor and trace elements.
Spectra were collected using two benchtop instruments (ChemLIBS and SuperLIBS), as well as
two handheld instruments (pLIBS Z-300 and pLIBS Z-903).
